Hellion

The Hellion appears twice in the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. At 1:03, it is among traffic on a busy freeway in Vice City. At 1:10, it is parked outside Port Gellhorn Pawn & Gun while Lucia and Jason escape in a Tulip. The latter appearance places it in the Port Gellhorn region.

These trailer appearances confirm the Annis light truck for GTA VI. No GTA VI-specific mechanical options, interior details, liveries, price, or performance information has been shown.

The GTA Online Hellion takes most of its shape from the fourth-generation Nissan Patrol, the Y60. Its squared-off nose may also draw from the Nissan D21 range. The bumper forms resemble those of the Jeep Cherokee XJ, while the rear lamps recall the second-generation Mitsubishi Pajero, sold as the V20/V40.

Its three-door-style side glass and related body details may have taken cues from the first-generation Isuzu Trooper. The finished vehicle has a straight-edged front, recessed headlamps, indicators at the outer corners, and substantial bumpers at both ends. Small wheel-arch extensions, side steps, and a ribbed side section carrying a secondary-colour stripe break up the bodywork.

In GTA Online, the Hellion belongs to the Off-Road class and is made by Annis. It uses a two-door SUV/light-truck layout, with painted outer roof pillars and black inner pillars. At the rear, it has a compact cargo area, rectangular lamps with black surrounds, and an offset plate mounting point on the driver’s side.

Its standard engine is an inline six with throttle bodies. Customisation can visually replace it with a V8 and add either one or two turbochargers, but those engine-bay choices do not alter its performance. The extra lamps on its bull bar and roof rack are likewise decorative rather than operational. The cabin uses the Cavalcade instrument-dial set.

Two named liveries reference other vehicles and media: Globe Ranger draws from the 1993 Jurassic Park film, while Nightmare has similarities to the Grave Digger monster truck.

The Hellion’s GTA Online performance is described as average overall, with capable handling both away from paved roads and on them. It climbs steep slopes effectively and has the durability expected of a rugged vehicle. Its large tyres are susceptible to gunfire, making bulletproof tyres important in hostile situations.

Window Plates give some protection from gunfire because they are solid, and fitting any version slightly improves traction. The vehicle shares its engine sound with the Freecrawler and Nightshark. A known ignition animation fault briefly freezes the character while their hands are placed incorrectly on the steering wheel; it can be seen from both first-person and third-person cameras.

The Hellion was sold through Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $835,000. It was removed from that site with the San Andreas Mercenaries update, then returned with the Money Fronts update.

A hellion is a devious or mischievous person. The name may allude to Nissan’s Rogue, since “rogue” carries a similar meaning.
