Squalo

A Squalo appears in an official Grand Theft Auto VI screenshot set in the Leonida Keys. Another official image shows the boat illustrated and identified by name on an advertising billboard, confirming that the Squalo name is present in the game’s promotional environment.

The GTA VI material shows a substantially reworked vessel rather than the compact, sport-oriented form used in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. It has a larger stepped hull, a more conventional cabin-cruiser profile, bow rails, forward and rear side vents, hawseholes at the bow, extra lights and aerials, and sonar gear fitted around the spoiler area. Its stern has a broader boarding platform, a handrail, and seats facing aft. Several pinstripe schemes and colour combinations have been shown.

The available identification of the real-world influences does not provide the name of a particular make or model for either version of the Squalo. Earlier appearances are described as drawing on a speedboat-like cabin cruiser, while the GTA VI redesign is said to resemble a different real-world boat more closely.

The visual changes shown for GTA VI support that distinction: the newer Squalo trades some of the older craft’s stripped-back sporting cues for more cabin-cruiser equipment and a larger hull. No confirmed GTA VI performance, seating capacity, engine layout, or purchase price has been shown.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, the Squalo combined cabin-cruiser proportions with a pared-down speedboat treatment. It could appear with or without a wakeboard spoiler. Four people could use it, although additional side-facing benches at the rear were decorative rather than functional.

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online retained almost the same overall design, but removed the two rear usable seats. That left places only for the driver and a passenger. In both games it was listed in the Boats class. DockTease nevertheless described it as a four-seater, creating a mismatch between the store description and the playable seating arrangement.

The GTA IV and GTA V-era Squalo used twin inboard engines with Z-drive propellers. In GTA IV it was quick and accelerated well, though the Jetmax and Smuggler were faster; its shorter shape also gave it strong handling. In GTA V and Online, the Jetmax again outran it, while waves could reduce its speed under the revised water behaviour. Its later engine audio was also used by the Turismo R, Feltzer, and Carbonizzare.

In Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, the standard Squalo cost $196,621 on DockTease. In GTA V, examples could be found beside Del Perro Pier alongside several Seasharks. One possible finish paired orange with white in a look associated with the opening of Miami Vice.

Los Santos Lifeguard locations also used a separate, non-drivable Squalo prop. These had weathered gradient striping, side lettering and numbers, and timber decking. They rested on dual-axle trailers rather than the regular boat’s single-axle trailer; one was connected to a Power Metal lifeboat crane at the end of Chumash pier.

If a standard Squalo was forced into Los Santos Customs through a glitch, the shop labelled it a Buckingham Squalo rather than a Shitzu Squalo.

In GTA IV, Brucie Kibbutz owned a black-and-green Squalo used during the Boating activity. After that activity, it could remain at the nearest dock. Derrick McReary, Phil Bell, and Jimmy Pegorino are also listed as owners.

The boat could be docked near Alderney’s abandoned casino or north of Colony Island, and it was common on Liberty City’s waterways. It occasionally appeared off the beach at Westdyke, where other boats usually occupied the area.

A Revenger’s Tragedy on the Deal route used a Squalo in Niko’s pursuit of Dimitri’s Maverick, before the boat was destroyed when Niko boarded an Annihilator. In the Revenge version of Out of Commission, Jimmy and his men escaped in one until an Annihilator attack damaged it near the Statue of Happiness.
