Trailer (tanker)

In Grand Theft Auto V, working tankers commonly travel Blaine County highways behind Phantoms, Packers, and Haulers. Parked examples occur at RON stations in El Burro Heights, South Los Santos, Sandy Shores, and Paleto Bay. Terminal’s trailer-parking area can hold as many as ten, while another can be found at LSIA near Devin Weston’s hangar, separated from nearby prop tankers by its RON branding.

The trailer also appeared during the airport pursuit in Legal Trouble, pulled by a Packer and scripted to detonate when a Police Cruiser hits it. In the subtle version of The Big Score, a police vehicle strikes one after the crew passes Rockford Plaza. GTA Online uses it in work including San Andreas Seoul, Series A - Steal Meth, Casino - Play to Win, The Lost Contract planning work, Fatal Incursion, and Crop Dustin’.

The towable model carries a large cylindrical fuel tank on a two-axle frame. Its original GTA V form has a front support leg, central side protection, black rear fenders with mud flaps, a broad rear impact bar, and round rear lamps. Industrial wheels are shared in style with those used by the Benson, Mule, and Phantom.

Fuel rails run along both sides of the tank, while three access covers sit above it. A rear ladder and extraction plumbing are fitted at the back. Warning placards and marker lamps line the sides, and Brute markings appear on the chassis. The standard tank uses orange paint with white ends, carrying RON logos and advertising on the sides as well as at each end.

The enhanced edition replaced the earlier chassis while retaining the tanker’s purpose. The tank-support pegs became narrower and followed the tank’s curve rather than projecting beneath it. Side guards disappeared, replaced by extra chassis-mounted pipework, and the base frame received a revised shape plus red-and-white safety labels.

Other changes included repositioned RON graphics, textured front mudguards, a broader reshaped rear guard, and a new lower rear section for the lamps. Rear deflectors and tanker specification text were added, while BRUTE logos appeared on the rear mudguards. The civilian unbranded tanker received the same revisions in both editions; the Army Tanker did not.

It has no independent driving capability, although it has a separate handling entry. The Barracks Semi, Docktug, Hauler, Phantom, Phantom Wedge, and Packer can connect to it. Its mass puts substantial resistance on a semi tractor and can produce understeer.

A collision with scenery does not automatically destroy the tank, but another vehicle striking the tank itself may trigger an explosion. Nearby explosions can ignite it, while close blasts generally detonate it. If the tanker catches fire while attached, it remains coupled for several seconds before exploding; only then does it detach, leaving it unusable.

Fuel can leak after gunfire, although the leak can stop if the tanker withstands sufficient damage. Tankers pulled by non-player characters can explode after relatively little shooting, whereas player-towed examples are generally resistant to that outcome. A burning tanker can also set its towing truck alight and cause the tractor to explode.

GTA Online added an unmarked civilian version with the Heists update. Static tanker props had already appeared in GTA IV, including a RON-marked example, and returned in GTA V without RON decals; red prop versions also occur there. GTA V props resemble the revised towable model, can be destroyed, and may lose their upper tank section in an explosion. No GTA VI-specific location, timestamp, promotional image, regional appearance, or configuration is identified beyond the trailer’s stated appearance in that game.
