A passenger locomotive is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, shown pulling three Viewliner-style coaches through Port Gellhorn in a postcard on the promotional website. The silver, blue-striped engine appears to be based on the GE Genesis line of passenger locomotives, judging by its body shape, roof exhaust vents and small side windows.
Promotional postcard appearance
Rockstar’s promotional website includes a postcard depicting the locomotive on the railroad in Port Gellhorn. In that image, it is coupled to a consist of three passenger cars styled after Viewliner equipment. The vehicle is presented as a passenger engine rather than a freight locomotive, and its GTA VI appearance is limited to this promotional depiction.
Its exterior uses an overall metallic-silver finish. Blue striping runs along the flanks of the body, while the roof carries three visible exhaust outlets. No trailer timestamp, gameplay sequence, purchasable version, operator, or in-game manufacturer has been shown.
GE Genesis design cues
The locomotive’s real-world reference is the GE Genesis family of passenger locomotives. Its resemblance comes from the general shape of the carbody, the compact windows placed along the sides, and the rooftop exhaust arrangement. The three roof vents visible in the GTA VI postcard are part of the details linking the design to that line.
The Viewliner-inspired cars behind it provide the only named comparison in the same image: they are passenger rolling stock, while the Genesis-inspired vehicle is the locomotive hauling them. No earlier Grand Theft Auto appearance, alternate livery, variant, modification, price, class designation beyond loco, or handling information is identified.
