A first-generation Vapid SUV is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, having debuted with a red interior in the September 2022 leaks. In the first trailer it lies overturned on a busy Leonida highway and later appears behind a PMP 700 beside a Bravado pickup, and it is also shown close up in two official screenshots.
Trailer and screenshot locations
At 1:03 of the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, the Vapid SUV is upside down on a heavily travelled highway in Leonida. A second trailer glimpse at 1:07 shows its side behind a PMP 700 and next to a Bravado pickup; the pillar layout corresponds with the overturned vehicle.
Official screenshots provide the clearest identified views. One shows a redneck leaning against the front end, where the Vapid emblem is visible. Another depicts the truck’s rear outside Delights.
Design inspiration and classification
Vapid is the in-game manufacturer, while the vehicle is assigned to the lighttruck class and described as a Light Truck. Its styling appears to combine several late-1990s truck and SUV influences rather than reproduce one model unchanged.
The rear lamps and rear-end treatment resemble 1998–2001 Ford Explorer XLT and XL versions from the Explorer’s second generation. Its headlamp and grille treatment draw on the second-generation Ford Ranger, with further cues from the first-generation Ford Expedition. Footage from the 2022 leaks also suggests that the front bumper takes after the fifth-generation Toyota Hilux and second-generation Toyota 4Runner.
