Does the GTA 6 box include a disc?
The announced box does not. Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 pre-order release says the physical version contains a download code inside the box and is available starting November 12, 2026 to support pre-loading. The game launches Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 & Xbox Series X|S. The release says the game is not yet rated.

What Take-Two and Rockstar Support print
The release says players who pre-order digital versions can begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026 so they are able to play at launch on November 19, 2026. The next sentence is the physical version: it contains a download code inside the box, and it is available starting November 12, 2026 for the same reason. The preload guide keeps that clock. Preload is a download window, not a disc and not early access.
Rockstar Support’s platforms, editions, and versions article, last updated August 18, 2026, says a disc will not be included in the box, and that a physical Ultimate Edition is not available. The editions guide keeps Standard versus Ultimate. The region-lock guide keeps the PlayStation country groups and the Xbox line that codes are not region-locked. This page does not repeat those groups.
A refetch of that support article on October 29, 2026 returned an error, so this page does not add sentences beyond the August 18 article already quoted on the region-lock guide (fetched October 18, 2026) and the pre-order release fetched again on October 29. It does not name a shop that refused the box, and it does not say a later disc is planned or cancelled.
Claims this page will not invent
“A disc will not be included in the box” describes the physical version on sale November 12, 2026. It is not a sentence about every future printing. This page does not turn it into “a disc will never exist.”
The release does not print an install size. Ranges in gigabytes stay off this page. That gap stays on the system-requirements guide. “Not yet rated” stays on the age-rating guide. No PC version is announced, so there is no PC disc here. That status stays on the PC guide.

Frequently asked questions
Does GTA 6 come on a disc?
Not in the physical version described so far. Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 pre-order release says that version contains a download code inside the box. Rockstar Support’s platforms article, last updated August 18, 2026, says a disc will not be included in the box. This page does not turn those sentences into a promise that a disc will never be printed.
Is there a physical edition of GTA 6?
Yes. The same release says the physical version is available starting November 12, 2026 to support pre-loading. The game unlocks November 19, 2026. The box is a way to get the download code early enough to preload. It is not early access.
Is there a physical Ultimate Edition?
No. Rockstar Support says a physical version of the Ultimate Edition is not available. Ultimate stays digital-only. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade after the download code is redeemed. That comparison stays on the editions guide.
Will a GTA 6 disc come out after launch?
Neither the pre-order release nor the August 18, 2026 support article announces one. This page does not report a later disc, and it does not report that retailers refused the box. Silence is not a schedule.
Does the download code play the game on November 12?
No. Pre-loading starts November 12, 2026 so the game is playable at launch on November 19, 2026. The preload guide keeps that clock. Preload is not a beta and not a demo.
Does “no disc” mean an install size or a rating?
No. The release says the game is not yet rated. It does not print gigabytes, a PC date, or a rating certificate. Those questions stay on the system-requirements and age-rating guides.
