Emperor

Two September 2022 clips place the Emperor in Port Gellhorn. One shows two examples moving through traffic near Hank’s Waffles; another briefly shows a red Emperor travelling north past Gas Stop. The vehicle later appears repeatedly in the second trailer and in official screenshots.

Those later GTA VI appearances show revised Albany badging and a newly modelled cabin. No handling, performance, price, class assignment, or variant lineup has been shown for the GTA VI version.

The Emperor’s main real-world references are the 1977–1980 fifth-generation Cadillac Sedan de Ville and the 1986–1990 Cadillac Brougham. Its square headlamp treatment may draw from the 1976–1977 Pontiac LeMans.

In Grand Theft Auto IV, its shared interior with the Esperanto was based on a 1982 Pontiac Bonneville interior. The GTA VI promotional appearances establish that the Emperor now has a different interior, but do not identify a new real-world cabin reference.

In GTA IV, the Albany Emperor was a box-shaped American luxury four-door with four square lamps, a compact grille, extensive chrome trim, squared mirrors, partly skirted rear wheels, and a large rear bumper. Its tail-light arrangement used five lamps on each side, supplemented by long brake lamps near the bumper and reversing lamps beside the plate.

GTA V and GTA Online retained the same broad body shape but substituted a black egg-crate grille for the earlier chrome mesh, widened the lower grille, changed the wipers, blackened the mirrors, and dropped the whitewall tyres. The rear lighting was also simplified: the lamps on the outer rear body became tail lamps rather than brake lamps, leaving the two lamps near the bumper as brake lights. Colour layout and wheel design carried over from GTA IV.

Albany manufactures the Emperor. It is a full-size, four-door sedan, and GTA V and GTA Online place it in the Sedans class. In GTA IV it used a large-displacement, low-output V8, a four-speed transmission, and rear-wheel drive. Its engine audio was shared with the Taxi, Police Cruiser, and NOOSE Cruiser, all Stanier-based sedans.

GTA V and Online again gave it a high-displacement, low-revving V8 with modest power and acceptable torque. All GTA V variants used the same handling data and shared their engine sound with the Buccaneer. The long wheelbase helped drivers recover from slides, although the car could fishtail at speed. Its low ride height could scrape on uneven ground or leave it stranded where shorter vehicles could get through.

GTA IV had both standard and rusted Emperors, with the same engine sound. In GTA V, the ordinary Emperor was described as capable of withstanding repeated damage to the engine, chassis, suspension, and tyres before becoming disabled; its weight, torque, and body-on-frame appearance also made it effective at carrying momentum through police roadblocks. It had one of the game’s larger trunks.

Lamar Davis owned several differently presented Emperors: black with “LAMAR G” plates in 2013 Online, blue with plate “07KZF345” in GTA V, black again in mid-2021 Online, and green with supposed Benny’s Original Motor Works performance work in late 2021. Maude Eccles, the drunk couple, Taliana Martinez, Marabunta Grande, and Los Santos Vagos are also associated with Emperors. A perfect-condition GTA IV example could bring up to $2,500 at S&M Auto Sales after Stevie’s Car Thefts, while GTA Online allowed sales at Los Santos Customs for $800.
