The Übermacht Cypher is a two-door German sport compact introduced during Grand Theft Auto Online's Los Santos Tuners update in September 2021 and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. Its presence was first spotted in the first trailer, parked among other tuned cars at a street takeover.

Crosstown trailer appearance

At 0:45 in Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer, a Cypher is visible at an intersection in Crosstown, Vice City, during the street-takeover scene. This remains the specifically identified GTA VI sighting and location.

The GTA VI car differs visibly from the Grand Theft Auto Online version in two recorded areas: its door handles use the body’s main colour instead of black, and its rear light treatment appears to have been revised.

BMW and Mercedes influences

The Cypher draws its basic shape from the first-generation BMW M2, chassis code F87. Its headlights resemble those of BMW’s G14/G15/G16 8 Series, while the rear lamps take cues from the 2021–2023 F90 M5.

Its small side vents resemble those on the C190/R190 Mercedes-AMG GT. The rear bumper, diffuser and exhaust arrangement follow the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, the X290. The red Cypher emblem uses an M-series-style badge design also used in a Lucky Wheel advertisement for the Übermacht SC1.

Online specification and customization

In Grand Theft Auto Online, Übermacht places the Cypher in the Sports class, despite its sport-compact body style. It uses a reworked Nero interior, also found in the Nero and Jugular, with analogue instruments derived from the Raiden. An Übermacht emblem appears on the steering-wheel horn pad.

The main paint colour covers the body, while the secondary shade changes the mirror caps, engine-cover accents, brake calipers and selected upgrades. Interior trim and gauge colours can also be selected. Its wheels resemble Synthetic Z sport rims, though with a deeper lip and a smaller inner opening; naturally spawned examples can carry a separate wheel colour.

Named paint schemes include Team Xero, Redwood Stripes and Speed Demon. Team Xero also takes inspiration from the Manhart MH2 GTR, while a related Speed Demon-style treatment, Racing the Edge, appears on the Obey 8F Drafter.

Powertrain and race behaviour

The GTA Online Cypher uses a front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed transmission. Its engine model is similar to the Rebla GTS’s, and its high-revving sound is shared with the Schlagen GT and 8F Drafter. Entering first-person view reveals a distinct electronic beep when the engine starts.

For street races, it has strong acceleration, speed and grip, with handling compared to the Calico GTF. It is described as easier to control than that car through tighter corners, despite rear-wheel drive. On rough roads, curbs and uneven turns, its underside can strike the ground; heavy high-speed collisions can also send it into a spin or rollover.

Prices, unlocks and errors

Grand Theft Auto Online listed the Cypher at $1,550,000 through Legendary Motorsport. Its $1,162,500 trade price could unlock at random every five LS Car Meet reputation levels from level 45 through level 75.

A listed LS Car Meet-only modification condition applies only before the vehicle has been upgraded. Some performance choices may not appear in the menu but are applied during upgrading; the resulting vehicle may be all-wheel drive and may receive wheel camber.

Its instrument textures are mapped incorrectly: the speedometer sits on the right with the tachometer needle, while the tachometer is on the left with the speedometer needle. The rear number-plate lamp is fixed to the chassis instead of the boot lid, so it does not move when that lid is opened or removed.
