Dominator GTX

Grand Theft Auto VI has shown the Dominator GTX in white on a road styled after Ocean Drive, in Vice Beach. The appearance is in the first trailer at 0:31, placing the car in the Vice City region.

That trailer shot is the documented GTA VI evidence. Its driving characteristics, cabin, tuning options and price in the new game have not been shown there.

The GTX reworks the Dominator as a larger, more aggressive modern muscle coupe. Its overall shape and rear treatment draw heavily from the sixth-generation Ford Mustang. The front end and rear lamps take cues from the seventh-generation Dodge Charger, while the front air openings and lower side extensions resemble those of the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Its nose combines a slim upper grille, a much larger lower opening and smaller outer intakes. The headlights use separate indicator, main-beam and vertical high-beam elements. A sculpted bonnet has twin vents, and the boot lid ends in an integrated ducktail. At the rear, broad light strips sit in a sloping inset panel above vents, a black diffuser and large outer exhaust outlets.

Before its GTA VI trailer appearance, the GTX was added to Grand Theft Auto Online on May 8, 2018, as part of the continued Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series update during Business Week. It was sold through Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $725,000.

It also appeared as a dark-blue car in the After Hours Business Battle: Car Meet, held at a Pacific Bluffs parking lot. Later GTA Online activities could select it for Auto Shop Service work or include it among the hundred vehicles requested for Brucie Kibbutz's Exotic Exports deliveries.

Compared with the regular Dominator, the GTX trades straight-line strength and torque for steadier handling. It has average acceleration with minimal wheelspin, strong braking, and is easier to control than many vehicles in its class. Despite lower listed statistics than the regular Dominator, it can lap a circuit more quickly.

Its maximum speed is described as very low, even below that of street cars including the Felon and Schafter. Power comes from a single-cam V8 with a square air filter, sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed transmission. It uses the same engine audio as the standard Dominator. Advanced handling settings make shifts occur early, allow prolonged red-line behaviour before a gear change, and increase suspension bounce.

Rather than using the original Dominator's interior, the GTX shares the more upmarket Specter cabin. Its horn button carries the Vapid emblem. Primary paint covers most exterior panels; mirrors, door handles and interior stitching use the secondary colour. The standard wheels resemble the Synthetic Z sport rims available at Los Santos Customs, though their outer lip and area behind the spokes are larger.

The bonnet opens to a large engine with chrome cam covers and a strut brace marked “VAPID.” A livery UV layout exists, indicating that purchasable liveries were planned but not made available. Selecting the Primary Extender can darken that part because it is affected by the black front lip. The rightmost instrument dial, the tachometer, is also reversed relative to its needle movement. Promotional store and pre-2019 Social Club images omitted the bonnet badge.
