A Vapid police SUV is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, following a police sedan in Leonard County Sheriff livery in the first trailer and exploding alongside a Buffalo STX Pursuit on a highway in the second, where it appears without a livery but keeps its red and blue lightbar. A variant operated by the POACH wildlife agency has also been spotted in official material.
Trailer and screenshot appearances
At 1:00 in the first trailer, the SUV follows another police vehicle along a Leonard County road. It carries a green-and-white Leonard County Sheriff scheme and a blue-and-red LED roof lightbar. The second trailer shows another example at 1:58 on a highway, shortly before it is destroyed beside a Buffalo STX Pursuit. This one has no visible livery, although its roof bar still uses red and blue lights.
An official promotional screenshot places the animal-and-hunting enforcement variant in Grassrivers while it pursues poachers. The suspects flee in a Bison towing a trailer.
Vapid SUV configuration
The vehicle is made by Vapid and is classified as a lighttruck, with Light Truck listed as its body type. It has a four-door SUV layout and shares styling elements with the Interceptor-style Police Cruiser.
Ford utility influences
Its principal real-world basis appears to be the Ford Police Interceptor Utility, the police-package version of the facelifted fifth-generation Ford Explorer produced from 2015 to 2019. The headlamps, bonnet, and front bumper instead resemble parts from the sixth-generation Explorer, which underpinned the second-generation Police Interceptor Utility.
The sheriff paint treatment shown in the first trailer draws from the Broward County Sheriff's Office. The second trailer's identified livery reference is the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.
