The Liberty City Cycles Avarus is a chopper-style motorcycle introduced in Grand Theft Auto Online's Bikers update and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. In the second trailer a red Avarus is ridden by Jason, and Lucia later bails from it to leap onto an open container.

Ambrosia promotional appearances

The Avarus appears in two official screenshots set in Ambrosia. In those images, it is associated with the Final Chapter MC and appears to be among that group’s principal motorcycle choices. Ambrosia is the region in which the bike has been spotted.

Trailer 2 shows a version with a custom paint scheme at 2:24 during the Downtown Vice City freight-trailer sequence. The GTA VI model has visibly revised detailing compared with its Grand Theft Auto Online counterpart, including newly fitted turn indicators and substantially more refined surface detail.

Liberty City Cycles classification

Liberty City Cycles manufactures the Avarus, which is classified as a Motorcycle and uses the Street Bike body type. Its earlier appearance was in Grand Theft Auto Online, where it arrived with the Bikers update.

In Online, it was sold through Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $116,000. It was later taken off that retailer’s site with the San Andreas Mercenaries update, so it is no longer available there.

Chopper design and inspiration

The bike draws broadly on custom motorcycles built by Orange County Choppers. Its exhaust layout, frame, fuel tank, and rear treatment follow that influence most closely, while its front-end cues come from another custom-chopper design. Additional elements reference several other choppers, though the individual real-world model names are not identified. The in-game motorcycle is described as slightly smaller than the machines that informed it.

Its exposed chopper layout includes a fork-mounted front fender, chrome trim around the fork and triple-clamp area, a single headlamp beneath a small cowl, and handlebars held by twin support pieces. Pointed trim appears at the fork tops and handlebar ends. A long central frame carries a mid-sized tank, a grey stitched-leather saddle, and a square oil tank beneath the seat.

Engine, wheels, and rear

The earlier Online version uses a chain-driven V-twin with a five-speed manual gearbox, indicated by its foot-operated shifter. A cone air filter sits in the engine area, while two short curved pipes exit on the right, each leading from a cylinder. Its engine audio resembles that of the Hexer, Daemon, and Hot Rod Blazer, but has its own tone; that tone is also used by the Sanctus.

Its four-spoke wheels have pointed inner accents and grooves along the rim centerline. The standard tires are medium-profile, with a broader tire at the rear. The rear fender ends in a point and carries mismatched lamps—a round unit on the left and rectangular one on the right—with a vertically positioned plate below.

Online handling and upgrades

For Grand Theft Auto Online, the Avarus was described as fast for a chopper and able to turn tightly enough to compete in races. Uneven off-road ground could break traction and cause the rider to lose control. Those handling observations apply to the Online vehicle; GTA VI performance has not been described.

The Online bike has an exposed primary-drive assembly with an Atomic-branded belt and a separate chain drive, both animated. Its main colour covers much of the motorcycle, including the handlebar supports, while the frame receives the secondary colour. Fitting any Belt Drive Cover upgrade slightly raises traction in the same manner as a spoiler. The Sanctus is its Halloween-themed variant, and both bikes can use the Major Milspec livery.
