Slamvan

A black Slamvan is visible for an instant at 0:28 in Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer. Only its roof can be seen: it is parked at a car meet in Vice City’s Stockyard neighborhood, beside a donked Vapid sedan and a muscle car styled after a Ford Mustang.

Separate September 2022 leak footage showed a blue example travelling north past the Gas Stop location in Port Gellhorn. This is the vehicle’s identified appearance in that region; the trailer sighting instead places it in Vice City.

The Slamvan’s principal real-world reference is the second-generation Ford F-Series pickup. Its styling also incorporates elements associated with Chevrolet’s Advance Design trucks.

The upper cab shape points most closely to 1953–1955 Ford models. The distinction matters because the 1956 F-Series used a wraparound windshield, a feature not reflected in the Slamvan’s cabin treatment.

The name first appeared on the Lost Slamvan in The Ballad of Gay Tony, where the vehicle was a van. That van later returned to GTA Online during 2015.

The GTA V-era Slamvan was introduced through the Festive Surprise 2015 update as a two-door pickup interpretation of the Lost vehicle. Rather than retaining the van body, it used the related front-end design with an open cargo bed. GTA VI’s brief appearances confirm the pickup-shaped Slamvan, not a newly described van version.

The pickup has a split rear window, a bed with wooden flooring, raised borders along its sides, and a tailgate stamped with the Vapid name. Its bed resembles that of GTA IV’s Bobcat, although the Slamvan adds the side extensions.

Its rear lamps and bumper derive from the Towtruck’s corresponding parts, but are presented more cleanly. The cabin uses Bobcat textures and instruments. Body paint covers the main shell, while a secondary colour applies to the hood, upper cab, and upper bed rails.

The standard wheels match the Towtruck’s design and are themselves based on the Classic Rod wheel option available at Los Santos Customs.

In GTA V and GTA Online, the Slamvan used a modified V8 with four dual-barrel carburettors. Its engine note resembled those of the Duke O’Death, Liberator, and Marshall. Testing and the in-game stat display placed its acceleration and maximum speed alongside the Rat-Loader and clean Rat-Truck, with weak braking and traction.

It was sold through Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $49,500 in GTA V and GTA Online; GTA V also allowed it in each protagonist’s garage. Online listed it at Benny’s Original Motor Works at the same price, while Arena War offered a $49,500 standard price or a $37,125 sponsorship-tier trade price. Enhanced versions were tied to Benny’s Original Motor Works and the Arena Workshop.

A Motorcycle Club Road Captain could order one for club use in freemode for $1,000. That requested vehicle arrived in black with bulletproof tyres and a bullet-resistant windshield.
