Hamlet trailer appearance
The muscle car appears at 0:58 in Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer. It is parked at an apartment complex in Hamlet, positioned behind the woman carrying a hammer. The material identifies it as both a muscle-class vehicle and a muscle-bodied car.
This trailer showing is the basis for the car’s GTA VI appearance, but it does not establish a confirmed in-game name. Its appearance there resembles the standard version of its real-world inspiration rather than the more heavily specified version shown in later promotional imagery.
Cougar influence and Sirius logo
The design draws from the 1969–1970 Mercury Cougar. More specifically, the GTA VI promotional screenshot points directly toward a 1969 Cougar, while the broader styling influence covers both the 1969 and 1970 model years.
In Rockstar promotional material associated with an Ultimate Edition bonus, the car carries a visible badge that appears to read “Sirius.” That marking suggests Sirius as its name, rather than confirming it. The screenshot’s car also recalls the Mercury Cougar Eliminator package, in contrast with the base-model-like example seen in the first trailer.
